Goodbye, Stylecheesecake

Starting again rather sounds a bit painful because I gave a lot of effort blogging in Stylecheesecake. This blog always has been fighting to the brink of no postage because it was struggling to look for its own identity.

Same to me also. Instead of fighting it, I'm changing it. But I am giving up blogging here in Stylecheesecake. I've thought about this for quite a long while and definitely this is for the best. This I think is a good decision. Sadly I cannot go into deeper details why I am abandoning this blog but I hope y'all are supporting me on the new one.

Anyway the new name of the blog (where I'm migrating to) is Feed the wardrobe. Please follow me on google connect, facebook & bloglovin on that blog because I will cease blogging and updating the social pages that's affiliated with this blog. I'll keep this blog intact though so y'all know where my new blog is. P.S. I'm still continuing my streetstyle blog at the same name & url, its only the blog that has changed fyi! Happy New Year also to all of you!

Urban heritage

Burgundy beanie - Primark | Fine knit jumper - Next | Navy cardigan - Urban Outfitters | Tweed bazer - Forever 21 Men | Black faded jeans - Red Herring via Debenhams | Brown chelsea boots - Blue Harbor M&S

Note: This might be my last post before Christmas day, I'll be posting normal again after a few days later after the 25/26 th of December.

First off, I'm finally getting the usage out of my tweed blazer! I mentioned it in one of my blog posts a while ago. Its pretty nice when you get the use out of an item you've bought but not used very often. Pretty much feel great also since I'm getting more usage out of it actually, a nice addition to my autumn/winter staples very much.

Did you notice that my photo is not indoors. Sadly (the truth) this isn't going to every outfit post, because I don't have the luxury of living near town which has cool locations like this. But good news is I did find a nice spot near me (but sadly its indoors, haha!). How fantastic is that? I'll probably do this (by this I mean the outfit breakdown posts) from now on because I have a generous amount of time over the holidays. Would be nice to pre plan photos (well every blogger does it like, I wish we can do it on the same day & then post it ASAP but no. Some can but for others no.). Thanks to my patient friend who took this less than 10 shots (lol)! Still a bit annoyed that I forgot to put the proper settings on it so it is grainy in some parts of the photo. Oh well. Practice makes perfect. Or at least I should remember to put the proper settings next time. Same with my limited posing. Really feels weird posing in front of the camera again since I haven't done any outfit posts in quite a long time.

Going on to the outfit, I was inspired by the heritage trend on numerous lookbooks that I've seen in some designer collections of the current A/W 2012. No designer in particular. My point is more on the color palette. To be honest I'm quite impressed on my color palette in this outfit. Five colors going at the same time! Not really impressive to some but to me it is since this is probably the most vibrant outfit I have to date. Yes it isn't that vibrant but regarding to the colors it is for me. But it has more of a cool tone to it. So it isn't too painful to the eye. Also it has both the colors mixing in altogether & the textures like tweed, cotton, denim, wool, leather & acrylic so its more than meets the eye even if the overall styling is simple.

Happy Holidays y'all!

Patience is virtrue

My same response to myself like Rachel Zoe, when the parcel of two Doc Martens finally arrived after a week.

I'm ecstatic that I purchased my first Doc Martens (and it arrived as I stated earlier). Y'all know that I talked about these shoes being ordered a few posts back. Very glad that I wasn't too hasty on purchasing Doc Martens ever until there was a perfect opportunity. Okay enough melodramatic crap.

Yes I know I don't have photos to prove it because I'm feeling lazy (x10000000). I'll probably debut them in my future outfit breakdown posts or maybe in a haul. You just have to believe me by word the two boots did arrive . Still happy right now since the day I got them. Currently breaking them in by wearing the boots in the house as I speak. The oxblood boots seems to be easier to walk in oddly enough.

In styling terms the black boot will definitely be easy to style up. The little pizzaz which is the faux lizard skin is just incredible. Always been a fan of the finer details in apparel - or this time shoes wise. Since most of my shoes are "basic bitches" (aka boooooring) its a nice change up even just a tiny bit.

On the contrary, with the oxblood one it will be a challenge to style. Yes its pretty irrational to select something that's too out there or at least too colorful for my own taste. Will be difficult to pair it up. But its nice to challenge myself on how to style it without looking like an emo wannabe or something. Not only that but here's one more news.

Your blogger (aka yours truly) is finally on his semester break (I feel like mentioning this again to solidify the statement)! Yowza! Its good news 110% since I'll be posting normally which I haven't done in a long while. Still finding it tres tres tres difficult to find space for outfit breakdown posts but I do that less these days anyway.

Happy Holidays y'all,
Stylecheesecake
